Royal and Noble Blond
Since he was a child, young Hagen lived in the Valhalla Palace, training in the cold mountain peaks and some volcanic caves in Asgard with the purpose of protecting Hilda and Freya. He is often seen alongside of Dubhe Alpha Siegfried, apparently a more-or-less close friend of his'. He trains hard on his own, often to the point of exhaustation or malnourishing, and over the years he developed an affection and sense of loyalty specially towards Freya, Hilda's younger sister.

Tragic Battle
After Hilda falls under the spell of the Nibelung ring (Ring of Vengeance), Hagen was sent to fight the Bronze Saints. Blinded by his loyalty to Hilda, and enraged by the way Freya ran to Hyoga for help, Hagen can't help but feel jealous of Hyoga's relationship with Freya, consequently taking everything very personally.

Hagen fought against Hyoga but was eventually defeated when Hyoga increased his cosmo. This happened not only because of their rivalry as members of opposing factions, but because Freya herself tried to knock sense into Hagen (in his jealousy, Hagen believed that she has been brainwashed or tricked by Hyoga), but he refused to hear her and (despite his own remorse at doing so) attempted to blast her away to fulfill his duty. Hyoga increased his cosmo at this (even more after Hagen blamed everything on him) and killed Hagen, but couldn't help mourning him as he saw Freya completely crushed by the loss of her dearest friend.

Note
Hagen's armor resembles Sleipnir, the eight-legged horse owned by Odin
Named after Hagen from Norse mythology, the traitor who killed Siegfried. Ironically, in Saint Seiya, he is a close friend of Dubhe Alpha Siegfried.
Hagens head piece can be pulled down and covers his eyes like a knight helmet.
Hagen is the only known character in the saint seiya universe to be able to use both Fire and Ice typed attack.
